From Pyramids to Nanorobots
HOW INTERESTING is it to know that most of our medical problems can be monitored through robots in our blood stream. Robots of the size of 1/80,000 times the thickness of a human hair (nanorobots) moving in our blood streams, locating pathogen and other external virus and bacteria and destroying or for the matter tracing the places of high cholesterol content and diluting it until normal stage is obtained. Nanodevices traveling in the human body for therapeutic purposes have captured the public’s imagination at least since the times of the movie Fantastic Voyage (Twentieth Century Fox, winner of the 1966 Oscar for best visual effects).Origin of Nanorobots: Living organisms are naturally-existing, fabulously complex systems of molecular nanotechnology."- Dr. Gregory Fahy The above statement raises the interesting possibility that machines constructed at the molecular level (nanomachines or nanorobots) may be used to cure the human body of its various ills. Inspired by molecular biology, studies of advanced nanotechnologies have focused on bottom-up construction, in which molecular machines assemble molecular building blocks to form products, including new molecular machines. Biology shows us that molecular machine systems and their products can be made cheaply and in vast quantities. This application of nanotechnology to the field of medicine is commonly called as Nanomedicine.
